''No ifs, not buts''......
David Cameron’s pledge to cut net migration to Britain lies in tatters today as new figures show the figure topped 260,000 in the last year, higher than when he became Prime Minister.
The Tories repeatedly promised to reduce net migration to the ‘tens of thousands’ but it has been demolished by a record 228,000 people from the rest of the European Union moving to in just 12 months.
So he failed, but was he ever going to manage it given the constraints of the EU.
Is it really AS BAD as the media would have us think?

Plenty of room and we are the 6th richest nation in the world.
The only fair thing to do If we are stopping people coming in is to make sure all the Brit abroad have to come home...Fair do's ?

I certainly don't have problems with immigrants who graft and better themselves. I'm married to one and know plenty. I doubt many fair and just people do.
Numbers should have been controlled. We have been let down, the British public never asked for this.
The problem is too much immigration over too short a period of time changing the make-up of our society too quickly, no turning back now is there?
Bit too late to be shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

the fact so many people have voted UKIP shows how strongly the public feel about the subject.
i have no issue with a qualified person coming here with a concrete job offer. otherwise i'm sorry but there's no room. also if you have a criminal record, sorry but you aint welcome.
i see that chap who got battered black & blue was the victim of some Poles who were allowed into the country despite having criminal records.

I'm sick of hearing that how can we moan about immigrants coming here when so many Brits live overseas, the difference is we have to pay our way as we get given fuck all and that's why must countries welcome us. And it's about time they started giving us gross migration figures because the numbers coming in are nearer 600,000 with 400,000 Brits leaving and the ones leaving we can I'll afford to lose as they tend to have businesses or trades we don't want to lose
